Gs. Norhiysam Mohamad @ Samad is a GIS Planner and Developer at Batu Pahat Municipal Council (MPBP). He is leading the GIS Transformation Program at MPBP, a plan to modernise the municipality's GIS environment. He is passionate about using GIS to solve real-world problems, and has worked on a variety of projects, including updating GIS data for District Local Plans, Special Area Plans, and land use data. In his previous role, Gs. Norhiysam was responsible for developing an integrated GIS database for MPBP. He also initiated the Safe City Crime Mapping initiative with the cooperation of the Royal Malaysian Police.
He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), and is an esteemed professional member of Institution of Geospatial and Remote Sensing Malaysia (IGRSM).
