Lifred joined Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK) in 1991 and currently heads the Valuation Department. From 1996 to 2001, he was Acting Director of the Property Department and in 2000, he became the founding director of DBKK Holding Sdn Bhd. He also advises the Technical College of Sabah Foundation on property studies.
Lifred is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in the UK and in Malaysia. He also holds a Bachelor in Land Economics (Honours) from Aberdeen University and a Master of Science in GIS and Remote Sensing from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
